How many (Merry Christmas!)

Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mothers shawl
Just a child
Is this who we’ve waited for?

Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Lyrics from How Many Kings

This is the day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas!

Gift of God

Today was the last day of class before Christmas and New Year holiday! For me, I just wanna relax and enjoy the temporary bliss of not having to go for lectures, for some classmates originally from nearby regions this is the time to go back to family. Not to mention, for a lot of people Christmas season means good food, presents, and fun!

Amid all these wonderful things, give thanks to God for all of them! 😀 Afterall, Jesus is the ultimate Gift from God, and He alone is the reason of this joyous season!

I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.

-Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

The Season of Twinkling Lights

I’ve always loved these beautiful ornaments during Christmas season! Not just the ornaments, but also all the colourful decorations and lighting make me feel so festive 😀

Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel — ‘God is with us.’ (Isaiah 7:14)

A minimum of gloominess

A dog sitting quietly in a dark corner in one of the many alleys in Barcelona one summer evening.

If photography is a reflection of the photographer’s inner world, this seems to fit quite well. The Barcelona trip was awesome, but I had let this photo laying almost untouched in my folders until today, and this is the result of some post-processing.

Gloomy, isn’t it?

The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses.

Hands off

When I read Psalm 46:10, I find it interesting that God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” The Hebrew word for “still” means to “cease striving,” or, literally, “to put our hands at our side.” At first glance this seems to be a rather risky piece of advice, since our first instinct in trouble is to keep our hands on the situation and control it to our advantage. God in essence is saying, “Hands off! Let Me deal with your problem, and rest assured that the outcome is in My hands.”
